The extensive Natural Park Sierra Aracena y Picos de Aroche is a region of beautiful, green landscape with dreamy villages, impressive caves with crystalline waters, castles, mosques and semi-wild pigs that produce exquisite ham. Still, the area remains a hidden treasure yet to be discovered up in the north-east Andalucia, at the North of the Huelva province close to Extramedura and Portugal. It is an area of unspoilt sierra villages, connected by ancient cobbled pathways are what make this timeless, authentic Spain. With its forests of oak and sweet chestnut and glorious views. This is the greenest part of Andalucía. Horse riding, cycling, fishing and bird watching are popular pursuits along with gentle (and more strenuous if you wish) mountain walks through countryside dotted with lakes, streams and waterfalls. The area produces the famous Jamon de Jabugo, rated one of the world’s finest hams, as well a profusion of edible wild mushrooms in the autumn. Add the stylish and cosmopolitan market town of Aracena itself, with its restaurants, bars, shops, theatre, art, world famous caves and ancient castle, then you have the best of both worlds. .With a reputation for some of the cleanest air in Europe, it's an area in which you'll find the greenest trees in Andalucía,
