The Costa de Marisco, Galician translation of the original Spanish 1950s term given as a label to the entire coast of the Galicia region in Spain. The term can be translated into English as “Coast of Seafood”.
Galicia the most North-western corner of the Iberian Peninsula has always been an important fishing region of Spain; hence the name.
There are three sections of The Costa de Marisco
1. The Upper Rias (Rias Altas) with its largest City Port in Ferrol
2. The Death Coast (Costa de Morte) with its largest City Port in A Coruña
3. The Lower Rias (Rias Bajas) with its largest City Port in Vigo
