our family has lived in freila for over 6 years and we would rate freila as the jewel in the crown in this area,the people,the fantastic lake,and the mountains around,a perfect setting,yes there is room for improvement but this village is up and coming with more amenities every year..Ignore the tittle tattle that freila is an illegal house hotspot,to our knowledge no houses are illegal in the village,houses that are illegal are in the campo(yes in the municipal) but as usual this is a question that the minority has put a blot on the majority...come and take a look for yourselves at the 13th century moorish castle ,the new view point under construction,and surrounding area....seeing is believing..

Freila is a municipality located in the province of Granada, Spain. According to the 2005 census (INE), the city has a population of 1039 inhabitants.
