The beach and yachting marina at Caleta de Velez is wonderful, Caleta has 5km of sandy beaches and is also home to the largest marina and fishing port east of malaga with 200 marine crafts of varying shapes and sizes, although primarily a fishing port there are many recreational boats offering sailing, cruises and a variety of other water sports. The fish market is on every day except mondays it starts at 3am and finishes at 6am.
