On the southern side of the spectacular Cantabrian Mountain Range to the south of the Picos de Europa. Area of spectacular limestone peaks of up to 2.500metres and clear glacial lakes with a dry sunny summer on the south facing side of the range. The area because of it's nature is excellent for outdoor sports of all types and is excellent walking and mountain biking country - with many companies offering excursions and activities. The area culturally also has a lot to offer - inhabited since the sixth century BC - and dotted with tradional villages, lively towns, hermitages, churches, caves , museums and corners to discover.
