Gandia is the main city of over 60,000 people and provides all major amenities with modern shopping centers, numerous historical buildings, general hospital, the small city of Gandia constantly buzzes with life. There is also a very cosmopolitan beach resort at Gandia with Club Nautico and Marina and a picturesque port with colorful fishing boats. This is the number 1 destination for Spanish tourism many families from inland towns such as Madrid, Xativa etc. own second holiday homes here and flock to the coast in the summer to escape the extreme heat found in the interior. There are numerous blue flag sandy beaches all within a short drive of the property along the coastline of La Safor.

Alternatively heading inland and to the town of Villalonga one can find the magnificent Safor mountain range which is on the edge of the huge National Park with breath taking countryside. Crossing inland and over the mountain on a very good but narrow tarmac road the whole panorama of La Safor can be viewed with the evergreen orange groves and the blue sea beyond. Alternatively the old railway line to Alcoi runs through the valley inland and alongside the fast flowing river Serpis. Both these routes end in the small sleepy village of L'Orcha where you can find excellent local restaurants serving fresh food including one with a large swimming pool.

These routes are very popular with locals at weekends and there are other country trails within the park having many fresh drinking water fonts along the way and much wildlife. Ideal routes to walk, hike, ride, climb, bike, or motor with 4x4 or trial bikes. At Oliva town which is approx. 10mins drive south one can find many amenities plus an unspoilt wide sand dune beach also with Club Nautico and Marina and very popular restaurant serving the fresh catch of the day and having a beach front swimming pool. Oliva beach with virgin sand dunes is now protected against further development to preserve the dunes and wildlife within. Near here is the Oliva Nova Golf Complex with 18 hole course and driving range designed by Seve Ballesteros, the clubhouse overlooks the course and is open to the general public. There is also a very good restaurant with swimming pool and a health spa.
