Why move to Els Poblets

Move to this tranquil coastal town for the fine views, beautiful climate and excellent value for money.

Els Poblets, also known as Setla, Mira-rosa i Miraflor, is a sleepy coastal town located in the northeast of the province of Alicante. This quiet town is close to the towns of El Verger and Denia and overlooks the Mediterranean sea. Visitors and residents enjoy plenty of sun throughout the year, with mild and short winters and hot and long summers.

The area is peppered with interesting historical references: Roman settlements, Moorish towers, and even its beach. The Playa de la Almadraba, which runs along the mouth of the River Girona, takes its name from a Moorish word for an old Phoenician tuna fishing technique. This tranquil pebbled beach is a well-kept secret where you are unlikely to find much competition for the perfect spot. Watersports lovers are well-advised to sample the Almadraba’s warm, calm waters too.

Community

This is a friendly town with a great community spirit. You will find a mix of nationalities, mainly Spanish and German with some British expats.

Property

Property is good value with spacious villas, townhouses, apartments, commercial properties, and even land at affordable prices.

Amenities

Unlike other Spanish coastal towns, which can often close during the winter, Els Poblets is open year round, with all the amenities you could need such as supermarkets and shops, banks, hairdressers, bars and restaurants. There are also a number of golf courses nearby, including the 18 hole Oliva Nova Golf Course, and the La Sella Golf Course which benefits from views of the Montgo National Park and Mountain.

Transport

Bus services are more frequent during the summer season, so it’s advisable to have access to a car. Take the AP-7 motorway and you will arrive at Valencia airport in just over an hour.

Employment

Start your job search in Denia, where you will find most opportunities in property, tourism, technology and education.

Health

There are a number of small clinics in the area  and you are just over 10 minutes away from the nearest hospital, the Hospital de Dénia-Marina Salud.

Schools

If you are looking for the English curriculum, the British International Lady Elizabeth primary and secondary schools are each around 30 minutes away. Alternately, there are a number of Spanish state schools in the area which are just minutes away.
