Why move to Camposol

Camposol if perfect if you’re looking for a supportive, well organised community in easy reach of the beautiful coast and with golf on your doorstep.

Since the first houses were built in 1999, the urbanization of Camposol has developed out of all recognition. Move here today and you will find a friendly community of expats drawn from all over the world. Where once the golf course and the nearby beaches were the chief attractions, now you’ll find a thriving town packed with excellent amenities, social groups and cultural events including the annual fiesta.

Camposol, which means countryside sun, more than lives up to its name. Make the most of the surrounding area by walking in the forests of the Sierra Espuna and bathe in nearby volcanic hot springs which are said to have healing properties. The coastal town of Mazarron is just a 10 minute drive and is the gateway to 35 kilometres of gorgeous sandy beaches. It’s little wonder that so many have chosen to make Camposol their home.

Community

Very much an expat community, the majority of Camposol’s 5,000 permanent residents are from Britain but you will also find people drawn from all over Europe. The crucial word here is community, as this is a newly established town with all manner of social clubs, societies and voluntary groups, all working together to make this more than just a collection of streets and houses.

Property

Camposol has over 4,000 completed homes, the majority of which are inhabited all year round. There are a variety of different options, from duplexes and small two bed houses to larger villas. In the past, the town had a reputation for flooding and subsidence, problems which have now largely been dealt with, but may be worth your while investing in full structural survey before you sign on the dotted line.

Amenities

Along with the town’s centrepiece, an 18-hole, 72 par golf course and clubhouse you’ll find a shopping centre, restaurants, a supermarket, petrol station and post office. To add to the sense that Camposol is now a ‘proper’ town, it has its own weekly market.

Transport

You are 25 minutes from the International Airport at Corvera and well connected by fast roads across Murcia and the Costa Calida. Buses are few and far between, although you will find connections to the airports as well as shared transport services organised by residents.

Employment

Many people have moved to Camposol and successfully started businesses providing goods and services to the local community. You may also be able to find work in local restaurants, as well as more tourist based opportunities at the coastal resorts.

Health

In town you will find a medical centre and pharmacy along with private dentists. In cases of medical emergency, Camposol residents can also access FAST, a free group of volunteers with medical training.

Schools

There are no schools in Camposol but you’ll be able to find a place for your child in one of the Spanish state schools in the surrounding towns, many of which operate bus services. If you prefer to follow the UK national curriculum, the closest international schools are in Murcia.

Cost of Living

Prices in Camposol are typical for the region, and a little cheaper than you might find in some of the popular resorts along the coast. Eating out is very reasonable and making use of the weekly market will save on fresh fruit and vegetables.
