Why move to Los Dolses

This upscale town offers homeowners security and luxury, with easy access to the Costa Blanca’s major attractions: golf, beaches and the region’s best shopping.

Los Dolses is part of a cluster of small urbanisations which make up the Orihuela Costa, a magnet for expats and Spanish sun seekers.

In Los Dolses you will find superb properties in positions that allow easy access to both the beaches and the shops of Villamartin and La Zenia. In the town you will find a good choice of internationally themed bars and restaurants and you are just a short drive away are five acclaimed golf courses.

If you want to get out into the wild there are 6 kilometres of cycle tracks connecting you with a seafront promenade: a spectacular way to see the Mediterranean in all its sparkling glory.

Community

Los Dolses is home to a largely expat population of 500, drawn from Britain, Ireland, Germany and Scandinavia. The proximity of the neighbouring urbanizations means you’ll feel part of a larger community.

Property

The area attracts more upmarket buyers and therefore prices are a little higher than the average. Typical properties include gated apartment complexes and villas, many with pools.

Amenities

Restaurants and bars can be found in town along with shops, supermarkets and other useful amenities. Practically anything else you’ll be able to find in Zenia Boulevard, the biggest shopping mall in Alicante Province.

Transport

Los Dolses is excellently positioned for access to the region’s two main airports at Murcia and Alicante, both around a 45 minute drive. If you are without your own transport there is a good bus service that takes you across Orihuela Costa.

Employment

Opportunities are mainly limited to seasonal work in the tourist industry, however you’ll be in commuting distance of Murcia and Alicante, with the bustling resort of Torrevieja just a short stop up the coast.

Health

Los Dolses is in an area recommended by the World Health Organisation, thanks to the enriching micro climate created by the nearby salt lakes. You’ll find a small public health centre in neighbouring Aguamarina with larger facilities in nearby Torrevieja.

Schools

There are Spanish state schools for all ages in Los Dolses but if you’d prefer to follow the British education system, there’s an international school in neighbouring Villamartin.

Cost of Living

As you would expect from an upscale urbanisation, prices are a little higher than in some parts of the Costa Blanca. However plentiful shopping centres and local markets mean it’s possible to keep your living costs down.
