There’s plenty of fun to be had on this golf and coastal resort on the sunny Costa Blanca, where you can visit blue flag beaches, historic cities, and play endless rounds of golf.

Villamartin is golf and coastal resort located in the province of Alicante on the Costa Blanca (the White Coast). With a mild, warm climate year round and around 300 days of sunshine per year, it’s not surprising that this area is so sought after by those looking to buy a place in the sun. Born in 1972, this development could now be called a village and is populated with immaculate townhouses, apartments, and beautiful poolside villas. The central square is the beating heart of the village where you will find a supermarket, bars and restaurants, various shops, pharmacies, a bank, and two excellent golf courses.

Golf is a large draw to the area – with two excellent 18 hole courses set in stunning scenery (the Club de Golf Villamartin and the Las Ramblas de Orihuela), there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy a good a challenging game for golfers of all levels.

It’s not only golf which attracts people to the area though. Buy here, and you’re just seven minutes away from the blue flag beach in La Zenia, whose pristine white sands and clear, azure waters make for a perfect day at the seaside. Other beaches are a short car journey away, and all of them carry the prestigious blue flag, meaning they are of the highest standard of cleanliness and quality. There are also a few fantastic waterparks in nearby in Torrevieja and Ciudad Quesada, so this is a great place for families.

If you want to soak in some local culture and history with the sunshine, you’re just under an hour away from the beautiful city of Alicante – stroll through its palm-lined promenade on the waterfront, or explore the beautiful mosaic streets of the old town, where you are sure to uncover some gastronomic delights in one of the many excellent restaurants there…

Property

Transport

Buses run hourly from Villamartin to La Zenia but it’s best to have a car to get around. Spain has an excellent motorway network and many stretches are toll-free. On maps and road signs, all toll roads have to include a letter P after the road type, such as the nearby AP-7 motorway, a toll road which will get to you to Alicante in less than an hour. You can skip this toll by taking the nearby N332, which will only add 7 minutes to your journey.

Employment

Due to the increasing number of British people moving to the Costa Blanca, there is increasing demand for English speaking workers. When looking for work, you are most likely to find something in the tourism industry such as hotel or bar work, construction, sales or logistics.

Health

Spain spends a large proportion of their GDP on healthcare and has around 4 doctors per 1000 people. In Villamartin, you are just a 14-minute drive from the local Hospital de Torrevieja.

Schools

The El Limonar International School accepts children of all nationalities from ages 3-18. The majority of children who attend this school are either British or Spanish.
