The cheapest city to live in Spain

Millie Owen

It’s no secret that Barcelona and Madrid are the most expensive cities for Spanish real estate, but the reliable transport links, endless activities & big city life make that worthwhile, right?

What if we told you that you can experience that whilst also taking advantage of a lower cost of living, cheaper properties, and paying less tax too?

The city of Palencia is reported to be the cheapest city to live in Spain by Kelisto, being 30% cheaper than the national average!

With a population of approximately 77,000 residents Palencia is a smaller city, but don't let that fool you. Not only is it well known for its collection of monumental sites and Romanesque style, but it also offers some of the most beautiful hikes across Spain!

The city's wonderful climate and accessible location makes Palencia the perfect place for people wanting to start a new chapter in their lives. Enjoy long Medetranian summers with temperatures between 30°C - 38°C, even winters don’t seem so bad with a cold day at 8°C and a flurry of snow if you’re lucky.
