Hi there, I am an Australian contemplating relocating to either Spain or Portugal. I like both countries, however,my choice would definitely be the Spanish Coast. My living expenses would be covered by a monthly transfer. My QUESTION is: Will Spain tax me when this transfer hits the country? If the answer is YES,at what percentage? Your help and clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Alexander, Thank you for contacting Kyero.com via our podcast: ‘The practicalities of Moving to Spain’. We hope you enjoyed listening, we have more to come! You will be receiving a state pension, yes? State pensions are normally treated as earned income by the Spanish system, because other personal factors are taken into account, we would advise you to contact a lawyer. Happy listening to our future podcasts, we also have lots of information here:

I like these podcasts but it’s terribly frustrating because there is no way to pause them if the phone rings. No matter what I do, the podcast just keeps playing.

Hi.. great podcast regarding the practicalites of moving to Spain. Can I ask if we were to move out there on a non lucrative visa and the property we moved to had Olive or Almond trees would we be able to harvest these and where would we stand with that? Also do you have to have a UK address to start the visa process as we were hoping to sell and travel and find somewhere then we would apply for the visa? Thanks Michelle

Hello Michelle, thank you for contacting us. The non lucrative visa needs to be applied for in your home country from the Spanish Embassy/Consulate. We would advise you to contact a lawyer, to give you the full details on this visa. If you would like to contact Alex Radford, here is the link from the podcast: . Good luck with the sale of your property in the UK and travelling around Spain.

Hi I have bought an apartment 2015 in Fuengirola, Spain. All the paper work done by solicitors, including direct debit to pay the bills. BUT they did not include the Non Resident Tax and charging me £260 every year for just filling the simple (Modelo 030 form) Last year went to the office and asked him to arrange a Direct Debit payment to avoid paying £260 fees. Now I am considering to find a new lawyer who can arrange the the DD for the Non Resident t Tax. Please help ,Thank you. Modaho
