Key things to watch
- The digital nomad visa has an income floor. You'll need to show a minimum monthly income from non-Spanish sources - budget above the line, not right at it.
- Spanish clients are capped. Under the digital nomad visa, income from Spanish companies can only be a minor share of your total earnings.
- Tax residency creeps up on you. Spend more than 183 days in a calendar year and you're generally tax-resident, wherever your clients are.
- Rent before you buy. A year in different areas beats guessing where to put down roots permanently.
