Sintra is a Portuguese town in the district and the metropolitan area of Lisbon, integrating its northern part (Grande Lisboa).

It is located in the city of Sintra with 319.23 km2 of the area subdivided into 11 beaches. Its population represents 19.82% of the total of Great Lisbon. It is limited to the north of the municipality of Mafra, east of Loures, Odivelas and Amadora, south of Oeiras, south of Cascais and west of the Atlantic Ocean. It acquires importance in the national context because it is the second most popular council in Portugal, after the capital, and the city with more inhabitants, followed by Cascais and Oeiras.
Among its major cores are, in addition to the city of Sintra itself, the cities of Queluz and Agualva-Cacem. It presents a great heterogeneity of its territory, being its litoral and northern coastal coastal coastal and rural features, in contrast with the urbanised coastal areas of the south that have been developed through the improvement of its accessibility and proximity to capital.
These are above their relevance to the IC16 and the IC19, the Sintra Line and, to a lesser extent, the West Line.

Geographicly, the council is located at the end of the match formed by the closes of Air, Candeieros and Montejunto, completed by the Macicio de Sintra, where it highlights its lock and the Carregueira. The highest point of the council, which is also the metropolitan area, is located in the Pena, in the Sintra Castle, and rises to 528 meters of altitude. Around them are platforms that do not exceed 200 metres and are covered by various rivers that mark the landscape.

Gastronomy
The council is home to several gastronomic specialties, which are popular with traditional sweetness with the passengers and complaints from Sintra. In addition, there are others, such as the Pastes of the Pena, the Nose of Galamares, the Pearls of Colares and the Fofoos of Belas.
The typical dishes include Sintra's caviar and asphalt, Negrais' milk, pig meat to the Mercês, and dishes based on fish and marisco as rice or salad of powder and chocolate mexilions, among others. These dishes follow the various bottles of wine produced in the Colares region.
It was also in Sintra that emerged the Pera-Rocha, and the council is currently one of the 29 that are included in the Area of Named Origin protected from the West Pea Rocha
