Kyero’s Next Chapter: Independent, Re-energised, and Ready for What’s Next

Nick Storey

It’s been quite a year over here at Kyero.

In December 2024, Idealista made an offer to acquire Kyero. For much of this year, while competition authorities reviewed the deal, we’ve had to operate under tight restrictions - unable to move as quickly or as creatively as we’re used to.

Now that the process has officially ended, with the deal off the table, we’re free to move forward again. Free to move forward independently as Kyero, just like we’ve always been. And with the experience behind us, we’re coming back stronger, sharper, and more focused than ever.

In this article

Kyero’s co-founders, Martin and Louise, share the story behind Idealista’s acquisition offer - and what really happened when the deal fell through a year later.

Now that Kyero remains proudly independent, they reveal what’s next as we move into 2026 — and what the future looks like for agents on the platform.

A Year on Pause. A Fast Restart

The moment we were freed up, we got straight back to work. In just a few short weeks, we’ve cleared a backlog of projects, rolled out long-awaited updates, and made bold improvements designed to have a real impact for our agents - especially in Spain.

What We Learned from Idealista

Meeting the Idealista team was an interesting experience. On paper, they’re a big, well-known, corporate brand. In person, they’re real people - smart, passionate, and great to work with. While the deal didn’t go through, the experience gave us valuable perspective and reminded us why it matters to stay true to who we are: independent, transparent, and completely focused on connecting international buyers with the right local agents.

The Support That Moved Us

When news broke that the deal wouldn’t go ahead, we braced ourselves for disappointment. Instead, what we received was an outpouring of support. Agents across Spain reached out to say how happy they were that Kyero would remain independent - that they value what we stand for and the community we’ve built together. Those messages meant the world to us. They reminded us exactly why we do what we do.

Refocused. Re-energised. Ready

After 22 years in business, we know what works: helping international buyers find trusted local agents, and helping our agents grow their businesses.

The past year has only sharpened that focus. In 2026, we’re doubling down on the things that truly matter - better tools, stronger leads, and more insights for our agents, plus even better experiences for buyers.

When it comes to international buyers, Kyero remains the go-to choice.

Independence Means Staying Close to You

Being independent gives us something priceless - the freedom to stay close to our clients. We know the market isn’t easy right now. Organic traffic is down, paid leads are more expensive, and AI is reshaping how everyone does everything.

That’s exactly why we built PrimeAI - to make it simple, effective, and affordable for agents to reach serious international buyers. And the results are clear: it works. Every time.

(And if you catch a little “hint” about what’s next in this video… you heard it here first 👀)

Looking Ahead

The Idealista chapter is closed. But Kyero’s story is far from over. We’re heading into 2026 with renewed independence, clarity, and momentum - focused entirely on helping agents grow by responding to genuine international demand.
